Skateboarding

Skateboarding involves riding on a platform with wheels called a skateboard. Skateboarding is often done for recreation but also equally as often as a means of transportation.

The history of skateboarding has seen it survive several generations where its popularity has risen and fallen dramatically in line with political and economical changes.

Modern skateboards are built with small, light and durable wheels to facilitate various tricks performed by skaters.

Skateboarding Tricks

Skateboarding tricks were revolutionized in 1978 with the invention of the ollie where a skater jumps and lands with the board remaining seemingly attached to their feet.

Skateboarding parks, ramps and halfpipes can now be found in many places where skaters indulge in various skateboarding tricks including varials, jumps, flips, grabs, slides, grinds and stalls.
